The Loop and The Paradox
My inspiration for my pieces come from the many parallels that the American school system shares with the American prison system. Additionally, the way the prison system determines under-privileged people’s futures by tainting criminal records or pulling out whatever financial foundation they had built with lawyer and court fees.
Lonely Eyes
This painting is one of my first abstract pieces, and while creating it I got really deeply involved with the process. I purely used my hands as tools to paint with, feeling the different consistencies of the paint moving beneath my fingers.
A Hummingbird
This piece is inspired by the memory of my grandmother. In Hindu culture, a widely held belief is the idea of reincarnation, and when my grandmother passed away, we believe that her spirit manifested itself into the form of a hummingbird.
Give Me A Hand
This pot was inspired by my own hand and glazed in simple white so as not to distract from the form.
The world is so flat and blue, your eyes could get tired of it
The painting illustrates an issue in our environment today called “sea-level rise” AKA the result of thermal expansion. So, “What causes the sea level to rise?” There are many causes but the main cause is due to “global warming”.
Tea with the Vikings (Teapot)
I knew the Viking ship teapot would be difficult, but what I have learned is that when I have a 2D idea I can always put it into 3D if I spend enough time and work it out piece by piece.
Hand with match with intruder
This is my first oil painting I have ever attempted and accomplished. Although it is not perfect, I enjoyed creating it greatly. Oil paint on gesso board.
Stripped Sunflower
The art piece I'm choosing to submit is that of a wilted sunflower. I decided to draw a sunflower that had been wilting for a while. I think there's something so beautiful about the imperfect aspects of nature.
An Enchanted Dimension
My cat was my inspiration for this since she too, brings in such a phenomenal feeling where I can fall deep into the natural beauty of her eyes.
safe place
I painted a Bharatnatyam dancer under a tree with falling pink leaves in front of a white hole (which is similar to a black hole but is supposed to seem not so bad even though it is).
The Sweet Life
I hope to communicate a happy, care-free, and youthful energy with my artwork. It is meant uplift viewers with pops of fun colors, clean lines, and simple patterns.
the abyss and the constellation
The following piece of artwork is inspired by the constellations and the darkness of the sky... the mystery and darkness behind the unknown; yet the piece maintains the elements of creativity and individuality of the eyes-of-the-beholder that looks upon the constellations with imaginations and emotions.
The Guardian’s Friend
The illustration itself depicts a dragon from Vietnamese culture interacting with one of the characters that I've designed named Y?n. The background itself is inspired by Vietnam's landscapes as well. This piece is one of my favorites that I've made as it combines my own culture and heritage with the fantasy genre that I love so much.
Konavle Keepsakes
I created multiple pieces using my own photography, and creating drawings overtop through the use of Procreate and Photoshop. These photographs were taken during a solo trip to Croatia where I met up with family to visit my grandmother's home village.
