Weightless
My project is a ceramic ‘Pandora’s box’ with a twist. Instead of being filled with the suffering of humanity, it symbolizes what humanity needs to thrive, freedom. My box is covered in clouds, which symbolize feeling weightless and carefree.
mouldering heart
This is a ceramic piece that I made with clay. It is meant to be a human heart, with patches of mold and a small mushroom growing out of it. I used various pictures of human hearts that I found online to make it the most realistic piece possible.
Ether and Gutters
One day I was biking and I was thinking of little phrases I could base paintings off of. “Ether and gutters” popped into my head and I imagined grates in the sky with weird liquid dripping off of them. So that’s what I painted.
9/11: First-Hand Accounts
I collaged photos and text together using InDesign to create a piece illustrating how the 9/11 attacks affected various people. I wanted to shed light on real people's stories and evoke deep feelings in viewers.
Rabbit vs Dragon
I made this as one of my first art pieces then for my final I decided to animate it for my final. I had to place every single pixel by hand and it took over 2 weeks of nonstop working to finish.
Self portrait
My piece was developed using ripped pages as background layer, with some pages coming from a feminist book ‘The Second Sex’, revealing my identity and voice as a female. I used mixed media for the self portrait and as my process further developed, I decided to incorporate collage poetry, also from ‘The Second Sex’ to reflect the complicated and intricate mind of a teenager, and mixed emotions of love and hate - some elements and pieces that compose ‘me’.
Swimming Through Space
This one is pretty old but has to be my favorite thing I've drawn in the past two years. It's a merman in space!
Don’t Drink Tap Water
This piece focuses on the extreme, in-your-face contrast that the image presents to the viewer. With the stark white text and bright orange brick background, the “Dont Drink Tap Water” becomes almost unreadable, causing the viewer to focus even further on the photograph to see the graffiti.
Ike in the Sun
My dog, Ike, went outside on a sunny day and laid down, eventually falling asleep. There was a light breeze blowing his fur around. I went out with him, and after he fell asleep I took a picture.
Baby in a new world
This pace is a representation of a baby's inability to sit still, as well as the reflection upon the baby.
Oddity Cone
My photo contains many repeating shapes such as rectangles from the sky and structure. Triangles from the cone and structure. And a trapezoid from the sky.
The Forbidden Persimmon
As I was admiring the persimmons that were growing from our persimmon tree, the beautiful red and yellow leaf caught my attention.
LANDSCAPE WITH FOREGROUND OBJECT
I like my work to pop out with vibrant and beautiful colors and also have on sight still camera hold straight on perfection.
