About the Creative Youth Awards
The Creative Youth Awards (CYA) were founded by the Bay Area Creative Foundation to foster artistic expression and creativity in high school students. The 2023 CYAs received nearly 2,200 submissions and distributed over $115,000 in cash awards.
This year, the BACF added a new award level to our prizes: the Creative Artist Award. This award is selected by the BACF staff in recognition of outstanding creativity in practice. The recipient of the 2023 BACF Creative Artist Award is Calvin Ray S., who shined in a wide range of creative practices - Creative Writing, Performance Art, Music and Film. Congratulations, Calvin!
