The world is so flat and blue, your eyes could get tired of it

The painting illustrates an issue in our environment today called “sea-level rise” AKA the result of thermal expansion. So, “What causes the sea level to rise?” There are many causes but the main cause is due to “global warming”. For example, the increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, mainly from human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and farming. Currently, the problem seems not that big of a deal but it’s would affect us at some points in the nearest future. Moreover, I created this painting by using abstract and surrealism strategies. As you can see in the painting, the eye represents us facing the sea level to rise which I used a palette knife to paint different shades of blue around the eye. The yellow shape that shinning represents the globe is warming up due to deforestation which is the white gap between the eyes and muted green background represents trees and also wildfire that burning down all the trees is the orange pattern around the painting.
