Life of a Bunny
Through this piece, I hope to evoke a hopping feeling in listeners, reminiscent of a bunny.
California
This song is about discovery while yearning for something unreal. In our modern world of social media, editing, and other tools, we have an idealized view of the way the world is and should be.
Gardens of Grey
This song, Gardens of Grey, is about being stuck somewhere that once was good for you, but now you've outgrown. Sometimes, we have to step outside of where we feel safe to be truly content.
String Quartet
This piece started out of an inspiration from playing in various Beethoven string quartets. I wanted to achieve a bubbly and lively melody that emulated the feel that I had familiarized in Beethoven's music. I also wanted to imitate the unpredictable yet structured way in which Beethoven writes his compositions.
Space
The song is titled "Space," and it features a friend of mine (also a senior at Albany high school) named Emily L. (I sing the verses, and Emily takes over on the choruses). I had a lot of fun editing in Logic (spending many many hours on it), and again, while the music itself isn't too complex, I tried to make up for it a bit with the orchestration/recording quality.
Sliver of Light
Sliver of Light is a piece about hope and resilience. Especially now, many people face hardships. In our increasingly interconnected world, many stories of hardships and overcoming them are shared, inspiring and motivating others to fight their own hardships or help someone who is going through a tough time.
Mare Nubium
This song was inspired by a number of Jazz-Fusion and Progressive Rock artists including Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, ELP, King Crimson, etc.
Turn It Off
So many songs today are about falling in love, or romance, so my friend and I decided to write one entirely about the opposite thing. "Turn it Off" is a fantastic song about restricting one's self from letting in those very emotions.
Telltales Told
When making digital music, I start by finding a melody, chord progression, and selecting key instrumental elements. Next, I add drums, write lyrics, record vocals, and add any other necessary textures or sounds. Then I begin the mixing process.
Courage
My artistic process is quite simple. I come up with an idea for a film quite randomly. I then formulate that idea into something more concrete with basic storylines. I then pitch this idea to a group of fellow filmmakers to hear feedback. Taking that into account, I further develop my idea into a full story.
Masking
"Masking", is a short film I made for an in-class assignment. My Film teacher had just pitched to us our new project: a nightmare dream sequence using symbolism. Immediately I had no clue what to do but after some thinking and brainstorming, I came up with a short, simple idea that would do the trick efficiently.
Blood Bank
My work is an homage to classic Hollywood films that have built the foundation for the movies that we watch today.
Dream State
This film experiments with ideas of surrealism and touches on the expression of certain feelings through a dream-like sequence.
I Won
The poem is about only being looked at for your successes and not for the struggles that you have to go through to reach them. This film is me preforming this piece, I could I submitted it as a creative writing piece but to understand it fully it must be spoken and heard not only written and read.
back to soccer
The story is inspired from my true story, I hope this film can let audiences to feel my expression.
Monster Teeth
It is a comedic short film that emphasizes how dialogue can make a more cohesive film.
Impatient Brother
At the time of watching this film, I was in the middle of the process of going to a new school which felt like it would be a foreign and scary place to me, something that the boy in the movie also faced. This connection I have with the film made me learn to try experiences before I make a judgment.
coding or something
I have virtually no experience in filmmaking, so I decided to make the subject of this film pertain to something I am familiar with. That's why I decided to make a comedic film about the nightmare of coding.
