Prior to my performance of my piece, I spent lots of time practicing and preparing for this competition.

This is Antonio Lauro's Vals Venezolano No. 2 (Venezuelan Waltz No. 2) for guitar.

Our song is a modern classic by the great bassist Steven Lee Bruner (aka. Thundercat), who uses a creative sampling technique to make a compelling groove.

We came together as a string quartet from Oakland Youth Orchestra.

It impacts my life because I am an artist who loves to express himself through art.

I chose the song Moanin’ by Bobby Timmons because it is a very fun song to play as a saxophonist because of the call and response melody with the other instruments in the ensemble.

When I first heard the song, "Olivia" by The Backseat Lovers, I was instantly hooked.

The song that I chose to sing is “Stay” by Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko.

Helps me control many of my emotions.

This song was truly a beast to tackle.

It starts pretty early, I think.

My artistic process is that I get inspired by other artists' work, and I take a lot of inspiration from their work.

"The Greatest Showman" had multiple popular and beautiful tunes but the one that stood out to me the most perhaps was "Never Enough" by Loren Allred.

This song means a lot to me and I hope its message can reach those who need it.

I have trouble expressing my thoughts and emotions through conversation with other people.

This song is something that I experienced myself, and finally being to get out of it.

When I learn a new song, I make sure to listen to it a few times to get the melody down while also looking at the lyrics.

I was going through a hard time because I have just gotten out of my first relationship and it was a hard time for me and they would talk to me like nothing happened and they also wanted to transfer schools and I didn’t want them too so that is why my song is called Want You To Stay.
