When I learn a new song, I make sure to listen to it a few times to get the melody down while also looking at the lyrics. Once I know the song, I start to sing it the way the song represents me. I start the process of singing the song with my voice rather than the way the original artist sings it. I take inspiration from the original and other covers I like, but then it comes down to what the song means to me and how I want to express it. When I finalize my sound, I record. Depending on the song, this process either takes a few days or a few weeks.

Being able to express my creativity has allowed me to better understand myself and the experiences in my life. I have been able to explore my thoughts and emotions through art. The best way I express myself is through singing and writing. I have found I am most powerful with a pen and my voice.
