Listen to Us
As a storyteller, I am always looking for a new perspective or idea to share with the world. With this film, I had the challenge of trying to convey a powerful message in a 5 minute documentary.
Artblocked
This is a short film I made to express what looking for inspiration when feeling artblocked felt like. I tried to explore as many different mediums as I could, to give the piece a more explorational feel.
17 Hours Before
This film is about a ballet dancer losing one of the most important things in her life, one of her legs, and the chain of events that leads up to that tragic situation. Though she has been through a horrible accident, support from her mother helps her keep determination to try and get better.
Melodic Ether
"Melodic Ether" is an introspective film following my personal connection with music, along with my analysis on that connection. This film was made during my time at a multimedia program where this was my final submitted work after a duration of six months in honing in on what i wanted to speak on in my own media.
Like a Stone or Flower
"like a stone or flower" encompasses a period of exploration within my filmmaking journey - utilizing documentary as an experimental method of storytelling and allowing myself to let the narrative flow naturally out of ideas stemming from conversations between myself and the artists I interviewed.
One More Candle
In this short film, I aimed to capture the essence of a universal experience—growing up—and how the transformations that come with it inevitably occur at a restless pace. The film's sharp cuts and fast pacing were intentional efforts to mirror the whirlwind nature of growing up quickly.
Fleeting Whimsy
Fleeting Whimsy is a short film focusing on a girl who is thrust from her dull life into a magical world where she goes on an adventure with a fanciful guide.
No More Pain
This film is about the turn of events that happen in a relationship when the couple can't make the relationship work anymore.
Running Out of Time
In one of my most recent films, I incorporated the nightmare-like elements of a fever dream into a film about humans’ relationship to the natural world. I was inspired by the surreal and fragmented imagery of a fever dream.
Morning Routine
I remember that when I was very young, I loved to experiment with using stop motion to animate my toys, but this claymation is my first real stop-motion project. I completed this short video in one weekend during September of 2023.
BZZT
According to Freud, "guilt is a quality that children learn to monitor their behavior to avoid punishment from parents". According to Melanie Klein, "guilt is [a] beneficial [quality] because it increases the likelihood of harmony in a broader society". According to me, guilt is a draining emotion that underlines my life with a thrum of useless discomfort.
STATIC
This is my college application film that follows that Chapman University prompt; In 2 minutes or less and without dialogue, create a story about a character making a tough decision. My movie shows a character offered a brand new, and majorly improved life through a creepy television advertisement.
Flowers Never Bend
I created "Flowers Never Bend" over the summer using music by Simon and Garfunkel, my favorite songwriters. I wanted to create a loose narrative, around the idea of being stuck alone, and stuck in a constant cycle of overthinking.
Barking Up the Wrong Tree
This is a short fantasy-drama about two high school age kids that discover the door to their basement leads to a magical forest.
Nickel and Dime
In the environmentally conscious, wealthy city of San Francisco, some of its poorest residents spend their nights collecting empty beer bottles and soda cans in exchange for nickels at Our Planet Recycling Center.
