  • This is my college application film that follows that Chapman University prompt; In 2 minutes or less and without dialogue, create a story about a character making a tough decision. My movie shows a character offered a brand new, and majorly improved life through a creepy television advertisement. We see him struggle between the choices of turning off the TV because he is somewhat scared of what he is watching, but also perhaps calling the number on screen so that he can have a better life. The shocking end of the film conveys the message of "beware of things that seems too good to be true" as he is shown to be dead with "unlimited happiness" as promised leaking out of his lifeless eyes. This was a fun film to make because I was able to experiment with older technology that I haven't used since I was a little kid, like DVDs and older CRT TVs. I had to work out how I was going to show the advertisement on the screen in real time, and ended up having to learn how to burn DVDs, something which is surprisingly hard nowadays. Overall, it was such a fun project to make and it only ended up taking one day of shooting and one day of editing. I am excited to submit this film to you as well as to colleges!

  • I love filmmaking because it incorporates so many other forms of art that I love: creative writing while story building, graphic design while editing and marketing, music while adding a score or soundtrack. Filmmaking lets me express myself in a way that no other form of creativity can provide me.
