A Meeting of Two Souls
Many people draw, paint and orate to express their passion. I write my passion. Writing for me was a process that I refined over my academic career. My writings are usually mandatory essays for history or language arts. It was initially quite nebulous when I first conceive of it. When I work in the background, that cloudy image manifests a more realized shape as I consider the structure of my essay.
Doppelganger
While writing this script i was in a bit of a slump, not doing too well. I got inspired and quickly got to writing the script which took me out of my slump. Writing has always made me feel better.

"Clear Water," tells the unique story of a mother desperate to see her son after being trapped and isolated in a mental health hospital.

I have a passion for writing non-fiction and displayed my skills throughout this letter to the editor. I am extremely proud of this piece as it was timely and included a clear call to action.

This piece was written because of a prompt given to my creative writing class at the beginning of the year. The prompt was a picture of a swimming pool that was structured on the top of a building seemingly in a cityscape.

"Black Beaded Bracelet" was inspired by my dad and my mom. I wanted to write a piece that captured their individual personalities with references to how they live. My dad is a meticulous, organized person and my mom was a glamorous one.

My writing teacher had opened a book and turned to a random page, then closed his eyes and pointed to a random sentence then read it to the class. I then imagined what the rest of the story.

"Two Birds, One Stone" is a nostalgic story that touches on the naivety of childhood friendships and the crushing reality of growing up and growing apart. This script was created as a collaborative screenwriting assignment in our Creative Writing class.

These poems are centered around social issues, arranged marriages/sex trafficking, and toxic masculinity, as well as one about fantasy. Pointing out these problems, which are rarely talked about, is influential to those who are affected by them. Giving a voice to those impacted, is necessary for change, and change is what we need.
