End
"END" is a stop-motion animation LEGO film that was made for my Chapman Visual Supplement. I was challenged with the prompt,
"Without using dialogue, voice over or music with lyrics, create a film that is under two minutes and is about a character making a difficult decision. Show that the character is pulled in two different directions at an emotional level, visualize their process of consideration and show that they make a decision."
Things I Should Probably Throw Out
This being my second short film, I went into the process knowing a lot more about how to use my resources to film in a manner that could be shot and edited efficiently and effectively. I wanted to create something short and simple that I could finish in a reasonable time in order to take a break from my longer film project which I was getting bored of editing.
Stache Society
Stache Society was a project encapsulating my life's joys: my childhood stop motion films and crafts. I took inspiration from Laika Studios and Wes Anderson's stop motions, even putting myself on a "stop motion diet" where I'd only watch said films.
(girl) cruelty
My film revolved around a teenage girl, subject to bullying at school, who now resides elsewhere, but her tormenters won't leave her alone. As her bullies change tactics to leaving cryptic voicemails, their cruelty is conveyed in subdued ways showcasing the subtlety of their manipulation and viciousness.
Back of the Class
What inspired me to do this piece was my experience at school. Often, I get distracted or overwhelmed by the most small and unimportant details, not paying attention to my work or my class.
Jonny and Santo
"Jonny and Santo" is a story written, directed, animated and edited by me over the course of 7 months. This was something I wrote back during 2020 in the pandemic and when I rediscovered it in the summer of 2022 I was also getting into animation at the time.
Wild Man
We wrote, shot, and edited this film in 8 hours as part of the annual Marin School of the Arts One Day Film Challenge. We wanted to create something witty and unique. Our film is about a man named Tim who flees the constrictive walls of society for a more peaceful live in the wild.
After Dark
This film is about a girl waiting for her friend at a dark playground. She is haunted by a mysterious figure, and as more details are revealed, she begins to fear for her life.
2018-04-05
While making my horror film, which is about lost footage, I have been struck by the ability of artwork to convey fear and tension in a way that words alone cannot.
If One Wakes
Inspired by Emily Dickinson's poem, "Dreams--are well--but Waking's better," this short film critiques societal awareness and consciousness through the dichotomy between dreams and wakefulness, day and night, that's been flipped on its head, where intimidating, perhaps terrible, yet undeniable realities of our world are preferable to artificial, misleading dreamscapes.
Stress Stages
Stress is complicated your either able to deal with it or it really hits you. My short film shows the different stage that you can take through stress, for this film it would be for a high school student like myself. The two side to side mini films show the difference in a student’s beginning of the week to a students end.
Wings of a ButterFly
I created an animated short about a butterfly who desperately wants to alter themself in order to resemble other people they finds attractive.
Season Recap 2022
I shot, edited, and color-graded it to make this piece really something special. The song gives it an emotional spin and makes it a unique sports reel. I also made sure it had a storytelling factor to it.
Sea, Swallow Me
This was a group project. We went to Fisherman's Wharf, Hyde Street Pier, and paid $15 dollars to tour ancient boats. We filmed there. We wanted to tell a ghost story of sorts. One that would reference the seafaring history of San Francisco, the globalism of another, more time-consuming era.
Natural Internet
My film is titled, "Natural Internet." I created, produced and am the sole actor in this film. The setting is in Marinwood, my neighborhood, located in the nature portion of my neighborhood that contains a creek and many beautiful trees.
Time of Your Life
This short montage film was my first ever created film. I wanted to invoke this feeling of excitement and energy within the viewers. I tried to do this through my use of music and selection of different exciting clips.
