• Artist Statement

  I created a video as part of a series of videos that depict themes of comfort, childhood, and memory. Through juxtaposition and sequencing, I link the stuffed animal and the balloon together, making the balloon a symbol of comfort. Through overlaps, I also bring in the idea of the balloon holding memories, as our comfort objects do. In the end, I let all these elements explode, both signifying the release of inner childhood and its ephemeral nature.

• Creative Statement

  As a child, I was the kind of kid to sing rather than talk, dance rather than walk and draw rather than write. I have always been led by my creative ambitions, and even when pursuing non-creative subjects, I am fortunate that my creative side has found ways to sneak up on me and let itself be known.
