Haiku for You
The inspiration for the piece came after reflecting on a collection of haikus I had once journaled during a very emotionally turbulent point in my life.
Extraordinary Path
The piece describes change, despair, and epiphany as it moves through its various stages.
The Wizard
This is a song I wrote. This is for my album “The Crystal” which will include a wide variety of songs aiming to capture a child like wonder with a sinister undertone.
Emmy
With music, my creative process is never consistent. Writing songs started as an outlet for me, but it has changed and adapted. I don't write songs too often, but I would love to dive into musicianship if I had the time (maybe after high school). The songs that I have written either started with a lyric, melody, or chord progression, or a combination.
Mirrored Faces
My goal was to show accurate emotions and what expression can look like. For “Mirrored Faces,” in particular I zeroed in on deeper emotions than being uncomfortable, or unsure of oneself. I wanted to make this piece meaningful to a broad variety of people.
Did I ever tell you?
This flash fiction was written a few years ago in response to a photo prompt of a military air force hangar.
Juxtaposition
This non-fiction piece of writing is about me as I share parts of my life with you, an audience willing to read. I fear that my story will never be shared with those outside my bubble but hope that this small vulnerable piece of writing can find it's way to someone who has had a similar beginning of life to mine.
laika poem
It’s one of the saddest stories in scientific history to me, and I wrote this poem for closure, to reconcile the scientists’ real love for their space dogs and the cruelty of consciously inhumane animal testing. It’s from Laika’s perspective, innocent but with a tragic and ironic worldly kindness to it.
Love at Last and His Masterpiece
For a majority of the artwork that I make, and end up liking, all ties into a certain memory or feeling that I strongly connect too. It’s important that the pieces I create all relate together to show different aspects of myself, whether they be positive or negative emotions.
Why I Write
I feel many writers may relate and I think it is important to bring light to the freedom and pure joy that writing brings to so many of us. This piece fully explains my personal experience with writing and the reason it is so important in my life.
Farewell, X
After reading Ross Gay's "Book of Delights," I was inspired to write about one special joy that came about after a year plus of online school work--closing tabs when completing an assignment. It took some time trying to think of how to bring my thoughts to life and to find the right words; but in the end, I composed an amusing little poem.
Dissolution
"Dissolution" is an experimental microfiction story that personifies the moon to create a unique point-of-view for the secondary character.
“Conflicted”, “Tears”, and “Words”
“Conflicted”, “Tears”, and “Words” are poems I wrote in 10th grade.
Last Chapter
The process of writing the work was during a difficult time for me, I put my thoughts and feelings into this work.
