Farewell, X

Ava C.

  • After reading Ross Gay's "Book of Delights," I was inspired to write about one special joy that came about after a year plus of online school work--closing tabs when completing an assignment. It took some time trying to think of how to bring my thoughts to life and to find the right words; but in the end, I composed an amusing little poem. This poem, entitled "Farewell, X" is a reminder that even in the darkest days of shelter-in-place, I managed to find delight in the simplest and most mundane tasks.

  • Creativity is having the freedom to express one's ideas. It's about sharing a unique experience that can evoke a reaction or emotion. Each person may experience the same thing differently, based on their memories, expectation, and sense of anticipation. Creativity has no boundaries.
