I enjoy songwriting as it allows me to explain my thoughts without having to state them in formal terms, and to accentuate them with musical features.

My song “Our Turn” started as a simple question to myself: “Who do I want this song to be for and about”?

This composition was written on the piano and arranged for a group of 4 horns, performed by the SFJAZZ High School All-Stars.

When I write songs, I either start with lyrics or a melody.

The ideas involved in this piece's creation started at the beginning of this school year, as I entered high school.

This song, called Imaginary Friend, is about what happens when you outgrow your imaginary friend from the imaginary friends perspective.

My artwork is expressed mostly through rapping.

I wrote this song for my girlfriend. The lyrics just came out as I thought about her one day driving home from school.

First, I began playing my ukulele. I started with some simple chords (C, E7, Amin, Fmaj) with my favorite strumming pattern which is the Hawaiian Strum with an added beat or what I like to call “chuck.”

My song is a description of an abusive relationship that uses chess as a metaphor for the manipulation that takes place in such toxic relationships.

For my composition, my goal was to tell a complete story, albeit tragic, about the ups and downs of a group of seafarers on a ship traveling through a hurricane in the Bermuda Triangle through an ABAC form.

My piece, "fragments of the past" (2022) is a chamber work for flute, clarinet, violin, violoncello, piano, and marimba.

Over summer I began to work really hard to learn music production.

This piece, Cigarette Boy, was written about someone that I loved that did not want to accept the love that that they deserved, and refused to break the toxic cycles they were trapped in.

This song has little background; I wrote and produced it on a whim with no prior experience with music theory or production.

Aside from rapping in my songs, I produce all of my own music as well so the process really varies from time to time.

This song "Coffee" is one that I wrote while watching a close friend of mine deal with mental health issues.

When I made Serenity, I was making my second EP Dreams and Nightmares, a storytelling EP about how a toxic relationship turns a man bitter and cynical.

The song that I have chosen to share is titled, "Fooled." It took me a few weeks to write this song.
