Cigarette Boy

This piece, Cigarette Boy, was written about someone that I loved that did not want to accept the love that that they deserved, and refused to break the toxic cycles they were trapped in. I imagined this person as a cigarette, where they continued to burn themselves out even though they knew it was bad for them. I wrote this song on my baritone ukulele, and recorded it in Garage band.

Expressing creativity through music is the way I process difficult experiences and big emotions. Writing music is my way of taking what I'm feeling, negative or positive, and turning it into a timeless vignette that will evoke whatever feeling I was feeling when I wrote the piece.
