Out of the Silence
I have put much effort into this artwork, taking more than 92 hours to complete I have gone on a journey and learned some interesting things about myself which I strive to do when I begin a piece of great importance. I named this piece “Out Of The Silence” which is inspired by my favorite orchestra piece of the same name composed by William Grant Still.
Warped Attentions
Looking at the canvas only 10% of the time, I tried my best to draw my hands simply by looking at them, not at the canvas.
Love and Ice
This art piece is called Love and Ice. Two girls preforming a routine in a skate session. I came up with this while I was ice skating with my friends. No, I'm not a very good skater but I've always loved it, the cold air and the feeling of air rushing by your face as you skate.
Black Lives Matter Poster
A poster designed to support the BLM movement. I wanted to design something simple yet powerful.
Magical Mushrooms
This art is titled 'Magical Mushrooms.' I created it through Adobe Photoshop and used a variety of paintbrushes and techniques.
Terrestrial Teapot
My process with sculpting has been iterative; the final work reveals itself over time. My current, more structured approach is to sketch out my ideas, revise them, and create paper prototypes before starting to work with clay. I take the concept assigned in class and try to not follow any script.
Untitled
My box is inspired by the stressful times of 2020. I designed the outside of my box with clouds to represent calmness and relaxation. I find clouds to be very peaceful and watching them relaxes me. During the stay-at-home orders, the uncertainty and isolation caused anxiety and depression.
what’s in my head
This piece simultaneously represents my experience of synesthesia and the frustration of having social anxiety and all the ideas and things I wish I could say that only come out through art or around the people I trust.
Planter
My creative process is never consistent. I go through different mediums all the time. For painting, I've never actually been in a class, so I guess you could say I'm self taught. I didn't know how to paint realistically for a long time so I would try and end up hiding behind abstraction.
Shedding Creativity
Words are just a construct: little letters pieced together, sounds slurred together, methods to get across an idea. What makes humans humans? If they aren’t words, if they aren’t the technologies, aren’t the buildings, what are they?
Textbook
For my piece of art, I designed a dress made out of retired textbooks from my AP Environmental Science class. At the start of the school year, textbooks filled the back of my Environmental Science class, waiting to be sent to the landfill - in participating in a class about pollution and climate change, the irony was not lost on me.
The Nihilist
I have always been fascinated with complex rhythms and time signatures, so I decided to compose a piece in 11/8 in my favorite style: heavy metal. It's an absolutely crazy piece with challenging riffs and solos along with a fast tempo.
Unconditional
I love music, which includes singing. I have been singing for a long time, when i realized i also love making my own music. I love writing songs and creating tracks for them as well. I use garage band most of the time to compose tracks of my own and i hand write my lyrics in my song notebook.
