I wanted to take an interesting reference photo from a photographer that I really admire and make it more abstract. I chose to paint many layers and with many different techniques and colors in order to accentuate certain things.

The theme for this piece was movement, and I thought that the sound of music portrays music. Music is an important part in my life, especially playing the guitar.

My work is rooted in surrealism, attempting to merge dreams with reality.

I tried to create this piece with composition in mind. I wanted to create depth into the page and used the tissue to create a sort of ground for the drawing to exist on.

During the creation of this piece of artwork, we really channeled our inner emotions to form the mood.

This piece represents feeling distracted and lost in thought, despite being surrounded by other people. Even in the midst of a crowd, it's easy to feel alone and isolated.

When I create my work I like to be clean and somewhat minimalistic but also have depth, character, and details that aren't super obvious.

I knew I wanted to make something that felt melancholic, and was inspired by the dual symbolism of butterflies. Both of rebirth, change, and hope, as well as the continuation of life after death.

With this still life, I wanted to experiment with the concept of giving unrelated objects some kind of relation.

It is an animation of Spiderman which I made for the new Spiderman movie Spiderman:No Way Home. I used this for my multimedia final and got a really good grade which is why I wanted to submit this.

Relevant Vandalism is a piece to represent this box our school system puts us in. Each scene or piece in this project follows these two vigilants “vandalizing” my school, Alameda High.

I’m still exploring digital art, so I wanted to try something that was out of my comfort zone. I tampered with the different layer and color shift settings, and the overall experience was enlightening.

“Foon Lok” – the Chinese word on the lantern means “Happiness”. Just like art, food is universal, and it brings people together.

In English class this fall, we read "The Gangster We Are All Looking For" by Lê Thi Diem Thúy. This book is about the experiences of Vietnamese refugees in America.
