I found a stunning reference image and felt inspired. I wanted to convey something intimate and sensual with simply hands. We are often overwhelmed with images of intimacy being of physical bodies or clothing. I wanted to draw something truly human, something that I feel is filled with real soul, our hands. Hands are filled with curiosity, our passion and most intense emotions flow through them. So I wanted to convey a true sense of intimacy with what I consider can be one of the most intimate parts of our bodies, our hands, fingers, and wrists. I also have never used oil pastels and wanted to experiment. I ended up really liking how it turned out, the extremely vivid colors were perfect for my vision.
