“Foon Lok” – the Chinese word on the lantern means “Happiness”. Just like art, food is universal, and it brings people together. No matter what culture or religious background, food and art unite people of diverse backgrounds. Food and art conquer language barriers and cultural differences. Sharing my art through Bay Area Creative Foundation initiates joy within me. By incorporating the organization’s logo onto the take-out boxes, I want to convey the message of inclusiveness, unity, hope, and happiness that comes with food and art.
I created my artwork using Procreate. I wanted my piece to give the audience a nostalgic feeling, so I used the contrast of light on a darker background to achieve that. The berry red color of Bay Area Creative Foundation’s logo inspires the overall pastel blush color on my artwork.

Creativity is my way of conveying my thoughts and feelings on everyday human connections, and it helps me find my voice and uniqueness. It is my goal to use my creativity to create emotional comfort and positivity for people around me.
