I wanted to take an interesting reference photo from a photographer that I really admire and make it more abstract. I chose to paint many layers and with many different techniques and colors in order to accentuate certain things. For example, I chose to be more precise on the eyes and facial features to create a focal point while making the hands very abstract and loose.

Creativity means the ability to show the world through individual eyes. It is taking what everyone sees or what is apparent and interpreting it in an expressive and unique way.
