Yummy Cupcakes

This piece is a series of cupcakes made from materials such as spackle and plaster. A neon clay tongue protrudes out of the center of each cupcake. This piece investigates the juxtaposition between attraction and repulsion, desire and gluttony. The color use entices viewers and the movement of each unique tongue amplifies the desire for sweets and overindulgence however; the absurdity of a protruding tongue is off-putting and repulsive. This piece allows viewers to look within themselves and reflect on internal conflict.

Expressing my creativity allows me to think about the world in a much more exciting way. I use art to turn ideas into physical objects. I ease my anxiety by transforming my internal visions into reality. I enjoy how I can manipulate materials to create pieces nobody has seen before.
