Chinese Calligraphy

My artwork is Chinese Calligraphy writing. Chinese Calligraphy is a traditional form of writing Chinese characters using brush and ink.
The words that I wrote in this art piece are two ancient poetries written by famous poets in Chinese, titled ??? and ???????. The meanings of these two poems convey the ideas that I want to express. One of the poem illustrates the departure of a character from his home. This is similar to me because I am also far apart from my home in China. I seek for a connection and bond with my family members back home. This connects to the meaning of the another poem, which symbolisms connection and hope.
Through the poems that I write in artistic calligraphy form, I explored my identity. The art form of Chinese Calligraphy also allowed me to know that, even when I am ten thousand kilometres away from home, I can still connect with my culture through different methods and techniques.
I wrote this artwork by first deciding the poems that I wanted to write about. Then, I practiced writing these words on other pieces of papers many times, making sure that I practiced each word and is familiar with the characters. Then, I found a long piece of good-looking calligraphy paper, and started writing. Last, I stamped my paper with red ink to demonstrate that the writing has been complete.

Creativity is the platform that opens up my ideas. Each person's creativity is what makes each person unique individuals. Through creativity, I was able to find my identity and realize what kind of person I am.
