I made this piece for my grandparents, as a Christmas gift. I use many types of mediums in my art, and this style is a departure from most of my work. I used watercolors and Posca Pens to create it. This piece was more difficult for me than a lot of my other work, because of the realism, use of watercolors, and lack of the graphite which usually serves as a guide for me when painting in watercolor. I've been a Lord of the Rings fan for a long time, and wanted to draw something that felt warm and comforting, so I drew the Shire.

Creating helps me reflect on the world through art and develop my personal expression. I can study themes and expose myself to my own personal perspective. It’s how I express myself, and it's how I show all sorts of things that I need an outlet to better convey.
