I use simple pencils that you could use in everyday school, and my fingers to blend.
I start by drawing shapes, creating an out line, the I draw in, harder, the important parts (eyes, nose, ears...) I then lightly shade the whole drawing and blend with my fingers (makes the highlights more visible if the whole drawing has some color) I then, I shade the areas that I want to make darker (always shading lightly and the blending with my fingers), and then color the hair all a darker shade which I blend again with my fingers, I then add some depth putting some darker lines and some highlights by erasing certain parts of the shading, and finally I add the important shadows (blending once again with my fingers).

I love to draw and have been drawing ever sense I can remember, so it effects the way I see everything, if i go out and look around and see things I want to draw I will take photos and then try to recreate them at home.
