Love in Isolation

Urvi K.

  • My painting captures a moment I shared with two of my close friends. The photo reference I used was taken when the pandemic was just slowing down, but it was a time when the future seemed very uncertain. A year later, when I started painting this piece, I was reminded of the great deal of love I had felt for my friends in that moment. Even amidst all of the pandemic's isolation, we were lucky to experience each other's companionship while surrounded by nature's peacefulness.

  • The layering and looseness of watercolors capture life's moments in a way that is unique to its medium. If I ever forget that there is good in the world, watercolor painting reminds me of the simple moments, pushing me to find comfort in naturally beautiful subjects.
