Love in Isolation

My painting captures a moment I shared with two of my close friends. The photo reference I used was taken when the pandemic was just slowing down, but it was a time when the future seemed very uncertain. A year later, when I started painting this piece, I was reminded of the great deal of love I had felt for my friends in that moment. Even amidst all of the pandemic's isolation, we were lucky to experience each other's companionship while surrounded by nature's peacefulness.

The layering and looseness of watercolors capture life's moments in a way that is unique to its medium. If I ever forget that there is good in the world, watercolor painting reminds me of the simple moments, pushing me to find comfort in naturally beautiful subjects.
