Hookah Shop

Geronimo V.

  • I made a prop hookah for my schools fall play.

It was formed using metal scavenged from a microwave, foam sheeting a la construction insulation, the "drum" of a lighting fixture, part of a sidewalk abandoned lamp, spare pvc, loose copper pipe, old garden hose, a wooden dowel, mounting putty, tape, clay, paint, and screws for materials.

Construction involved such highlights as smacking the hell out of microwave metal in the rain, heat bending pvc, and spinning foam on a hot cut.

To finish it, a fog machine was put in the hollow bottom to cause it to spew out of holes in the bottom and be funneled upward in the piece in order to create the "hot box" effect.

  • I’ve always had trouble with making myself and my thoughts understood in conversation, so art is a way of making that understood.
