Face Mask

Felicia L.

  • Growing up in a family of musicians, I had the urge to see live music during the pandemic. The Sydney Opera House is influential both architecturally and musically, and I decided to incorporate some of its elements into the design for the purpose of attending an opera during the time of the pandemic. In the process, I experimented with different elements and their effect on the wearer. I also pulled inspiration from seashells I collected while cleaning the beach. The mask is both an expressive headpiece and a functioning protective mask.

  • I started as a cellist and artist, and continue exploring other forms of creative expression. As a senior stressing about planning my future, I stay grounded through the chaos by engaging in arts, from drawing to dancing. Practicing arts will always be a place for me to release and feel at home.
