• Artist Statement

  In this vivid painting, I portray the detrimental human impacts on nature. By displaying a struggling octopus entangled in fishing ropes, nets, and face masks, I call attention to the permanent damage of human materialistic waste on ocean life and encourage viewers to mindfully use and minimize irreversible products. I layered multiple colors to build rich tones on the octopus’s body and eye to resemble the stress the octopus feels as it shifts hues.

  Art is my powerful voice to share my thoughts, beliefs, and aspirations with the world. Raising awareness of environmental and social issues is how I leave an indelible impact on my community. I aspire to create art that sparks passion within viewers, resulting in a positive response and change.
