Chaos

Abel M.

  • Abel was born and raised in the Bay Area, and is currently a Junior in high school. During the summer of his freshman year he took a summer art class provided by his school which sparked the flames of curiosity of what it really takes to become an artist. While exploring different mediums and styles, Abel's final project for his class was to recreate a painting done by a famous artist. Abel took deep inspiration from Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, and was especially impacted by his "Young woman on the shore" art piece.

During his Junior year, Abel applied and got accepted at a graphic design internship position in his hometown where he learned the inner workings of creating through the use of photoshop. Although working with a new medium was difficult to adapt to, he didn't let that extinguish his flames of curiosity. While working on his self portrait he likes to refer to as "Chaos", a bundle of uncertainties and emotions caused his creative process to deviate from its regular tranquility and allowed him to express a dormant side of him. Through the use of various 'cores' Abel began his work process which collided with each other, resulting in his final art piece.

  • Exploring my creativity helps me express my thoughts and emotions as well as focus on my passions and what really matters to me. Focusing on my creative mind, and exercising it to think out of the box and different from the norm is very important to me.
