versātus

versātus was born out of a challenge to think beyond conventional subjects, a reminder that creativity thrives in simplicity. This poem explores the humble leaf, a natural wonder often overlooked, yet integral to life. Through vivid imagery and scientific allusions, I aimed to showcase its quiet contributions: a sanctuary for creatures, a giver of shade, and even a resting place for pollinators. Writing this poem reminded me of the beauty in the unnoticed and how everything, no matter how small, holds significance. The closing lines reflect a personal touch—my connection to peach trees and the comfort of their fruit. This piece is not just about leaves but about finding meaning and inspiration in the everyday, letting imagination guide the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Creativity is like looking at a blank map and deciding where the roads will go. It’s taking something ordinary and twisting it into something that feels entirely your own. It’s about seeing the world differently, bending the rules, and asking “what if?” It can be messy but also thrilling.
