This work is a multi-media piece that depicts various images and symbols that are tied to the color purple. I initially painted the wizard in acrylic paint and then cut up pages from various magazines to create amethysts growing from his head and to make a stained glass design on the background. Then, I went back and did some touch ups and smaller details with colored pencils and added in flowers that I had drawn. The whole piece took me about three weeks to complete.

To me, creativity is storytelling. It’s all about getting your own story outside of your body and sharing it with the world and then receiving and understanding the stories of everyone around you. It’s a deeply personal and intimate expression of the self.
