Sleeping has always been a solace that frees me from the burdens of everyday worries. Each day, the pressures of needing to ”get ahead and succeed” are stacked on my shoulders, but they melt away when I fall asleep. I escape into vivid, fantasy lands, leaving my anxiousness in the waking world. The girl freely falling through the clouds represents the freedom I find in my dreams. Yet, the artwork reveals a sore reminder: one shouldn’t bury their worries in dreams and forget them. The fantasy clouds become a mere backdrop as the girl falls into the puppet show. She finds herself under the scrutiny of judging eyes, symbolizing the hidden societal pressures that will always remain despite my escapist dreaming. In the end, I, like the girl, will have to confront the pressures of the real world. But for now, I will always enjoy the free feeling of dreaming.

Creativity allows me to immerse myself while expressing hidden feelings I ignore as I navigate my daily life. It is the act of releasing thoughts and ideas to paint a canvas. While creativity exposes vulnerabilities of the artist, it reduces the mayhem in my life and gives me joy.
