The Passage of Time

This piece depicts an endless desert being continuously filled with sand. The sand pouring from an hourglass encapsulates the entire landscape. The two figures on the sand dune represent the contrasting views of my past and current self on the passage of time; while my younger self embraces the beauty of each moment with youthful carefreeness, my present self struggles to resist the apprehensions of the fleeting nature of time. These sentiments are embodied by the figure that is fixated on the rapidly falling sand, in contrast to a child, laying and enjoying the vibrant sunset. This artwork portrays my longing to be as carefree as my child self was, and breathe in the beauty of the moment.
