The Girl From Ipanema

Samuel M.

  • The song ”The Girl From Ipanema” is a bossa nova standard that the listener through the story of someone who sees a gorgeous woman on his walk every day, but cannot build up the courage to say anything. This arrangement is meant to show the lamenting of someone who slowly realizes that the one he loves is out of his reach. The violins symbolize a quiet cry of his heart as he looses his hope of talking to her. And, as he looks at her, he realizes, that she wont look back, and it will never happen; he is witnessing loves slow and soft passing.

  • To me, creativity is the water that runs within our bodies, the life that allows us all to breathe. Weather that is through music, through writing, or any other medium, creativity is what brings us together and what keeps us alive. And, within that, it moves us forward.
