  • This artwork holds a special place in my heart. I fell in love with this piece when I first heard it, as it spoke to me through its diverse emotion. As I played this piece, I learned how to express myself note by note, even integrating a few of my own ideas into the movement. For example, the middle section of this piece was meant to be played in a cheerful tone. However, I interpreted these few lines differently and saw it as the more nostalgic and hopeful segment. Even in the repeating lines of the opening melody, playing it every time differently was a new challenge that I found exciting to tackle. While learning this piece, I really enjoyed being able to play the movement the traditional way it had been written, while also connecting to it with my own emotions and feelings.

  • To me, creativity means how one expresses themselves with an original idea. I think this piece is subjective and can be played in a variety of ways. Tchaikovsky had written this piece to reflect his emotions, and I applied my creativity through connecting my own thoughts to his.
