Pine Marten

Lola P.

Paper Mache on a base of aluminum wire, masking tape, old magazine paper, and duct tape, with fine details made from apoxie sculpt and painted with acrylic paints.

  • This sculpture started as a very thin wire frame, based on a to scale drawing. The many consecutive layers of paper and tape made it very sturdy and gave it weight. It is supposed to be accurate in shape to the real creature, but the colors are not. I painted it with a mixture of red brown and gold to give it a rich earthy appearance.

  • To me it means taking all of the feelings and ideas floating around in my head and trying to put them into reality somehow, through stories or color. Or it simply means to create something that makes me happy, through the accomplishment of its creation or through its nature.
