This piece is based on the idea of propaganda and the gradual loss of information in a society where information is banned. Without magical intervention, Adin’s story would be unlikely on the individual scale, but Adin represents an entire society, gradually losing touch with reality as people become less and less hopeful that they will someday be free of the government’s tyranny.

People live in distant worlds from each other, often having trouble seeing into others’ lives. For people like myself who have trouble interacting with people conventionally, writing is a way to open a window into my world, and reading is a way to see into the worlds of others.
