Nostalgia

The smell of gasoline and soap, scratchy seats, and velcro is what I remembered on this train ride with my cousin, before we parted ways to go back to our own home country. In this piece, I wanted to express childhood nostalgia in all its technicolored simplicity and youth. I chose oil pastel as the medium for this artwork to capture the inky saturation of nostalgia, as well as the television static sensation of memories.

To me, creativity is not an innate attribute, but rather the essence of what humanity is. Humans are creative by nature, and are meant to create- Even if it is as simple as the way you like your room to be laid out, or what color pens you write with.
