I Love You, I’m Sorry By Gracie Abrams

Charlotte K.

  • “ I Love You, I’m Sorry” by Gracie Abrams is a song about the feelings that come with remembering past relationships such as regret, acceptance, and growth. The lyrics have an apologetic tone showing a sense of regret; realizing that the relationship ending was a part of life, which is repeated by the chorus, shows acceptance of fate; and acknowledging the mistakes that were made suggests the strive to become a better person. This song touches my heart because it reminds me of a past friendship I had when I was little and the guilt I constantly feel from remembering times when I was not a good friend to them. However, I was able to grow and become a better person by learning from my mistakes I made then. Making mistakes can feel like the worst but by reflecting and learning from them, it can help you become greater.

  • To me, creativity is a way for me to express my emotions and struggles through telling a story. To me, the lyrics and instruments of songs are ways to both tell and show. The lyrics tells the story cohesively, while the instruments shows and enhances the emotion through the tone.
