This collection of poetry is a commentary on the autonomy of being a girl. Gender is a massive part of my identity and growing up as a female will always have such an impact on my struggles, thoughts, and accomplishments. It has especially impacted my words. The insistence to use pretty and pleasing prose to discuss unpleasant topics. The idea that deceitful language will make difficult topics appealing. This concept inspired my collection of three poems; Girl Unabridged. One for the voice inside who preaches, one for personal rumination, and one for the edict of observers.

To me, creativity is self-expression. It is creating your unique twist in all aspects of your life. Only you can bring to life what lies in your mind. Creativity and self-expression vary. Depending on the person, year, day, or even minute. Creativity is bravery. A spirited drive to be different.
