When the Flowers Bloom Again

Chelsea R.

  • I wrote this piece because of an idea that came to me while walking past the rows of flowers my family and I would see whenever we took walks outside our neighborhood. I thought about writing a story where two people were connected by the imagery of flowers and a secret place only they knew about. I wanted this piece to focus on both the emotion of longing for a time that’s past, and may never happen again, and that feeling of everlasting love that can persist regardless of how many years go by.

  • Creativity is about having the world at your fingertips and making an absolute mess out of it. You take an idea, then add on or remove from it. Putting random things together that might not fit, but through adding, removing, and being messy, you’ll find something that speaks to you.
