• Artist Statement

  Girl Games is a piece of non-ficton creative writing I made as i found parallels from the real situations I have to face everyday as girl in the bay area and the situations in games meant for young girls. The older ive gotten the easier it is to find creepy subtext in things that onced seem innocent and the stereotypical princess games I used to play as a kid just happen to be one of those things. My piece is not only my creative outlet to express my frustration with issues I face as I navigate girlhood put to bring awareness that these issues are too normalized in our society that not even a fictional princess from a flash game can escape it. ( Tw: mentions of harassment of young girl and misogyny)
