  • “The Spectacle” is messy and raw – that’s really the most accurate way to describe it. The poem ultimately represents the universal feeling of wanting to be noticed and cared for, and the extent some will go to fulfill this. It revolves around a desperate craving to simply be seen, taking pride in the things that are “wrong” with you and parading them around. It’s generally asking ‘how much pain will you allow yourself to endure before your mind is poisoned and your body scarred?’

  • Creativity is messy. It’s scattered ideas and feelings, but also helps organize the chaos into clarity. I find it difficult to talk about my emotions, but writing allows me to untangle them. It can be resonant and universal, dark and blunt. Creativity is comfort in your own feelings and words.
