My dance choreography process starts with the music. I find the song that resonates with me the most and aligns with the mood I want for the piece. For this performance, I wanted the song to be fantastical, like a kingdom waltz. From there, my partner and I began experimenting with different poses on the pulley apparatus. There are limited resources available online for aerial pulley, and we created all our poses independently. Once our poses were made, my focus shifted to developing a more natural flow. This dance is about exploring the limits to which you can stretch yourself, reaching new heights and dimensions unseen. It also explores friendship and support, how our friends free us from busy times and heavy workloads, allowing us to open up and discover our true selves.

Creativity means exploring myself through the mediums around me. In dance, this means exploring my body, its limits, motions, and how I can make people feel something through various movements. Self-expression leads to self-discovery, pushing me to dig into the qualities that make me human.
