Drowning in Tears

Colored pencil, white paint markers

  • Before I started this artwork, I pondered so hardly about the painful feeling of frustration and agony that arose when I just can’t get out of times of darkness. It took me days to formulate the visuals based on this idea, and it was even more difficult to portray the exact feelings I wanted in color. There are so many times when I just feel like screaming and screaming and crying my eyes out. The tears I constantly shed just bring me down, perhaps ”drowning myself in tears,” as it is so difficult to get back up again and swim back out of the river I cried. It’s almost as if I am trapped, like the dark orange-ish sky of doomsday. My piece ”Drowning in Tears” represents that pain indescribable with words.

  • Creativity is a way to express anything you feel at all. You can construct anything from your imagination to evoke what you feel into the souls of your audience. To me, this is art. It doesn’t have to be pretty or realistic. You just have to fabricate from the heart.
