The piece begins with 3 different devices using lithium ion batteries. They are all interconnected by wires, of which are colored the same as the steps to recycle below. I did this to bring a connection between devices we use every day and how we can recycle their batteries to ensure a cleaner, sustainable environment. The next part of the piece include steps on how Li Batteries are disassembled an re-manufactured into batteries. I used pieces of different colored construction paper, used throughout the piece to bring attention to the recycling process. An EV, located at the bottom of the piece represents an example of what our used batteries can be recycled into. In this case, the battery pack for the EV is recycled from Li Batteries. Lasty, the two clay batteries on either side of the piece. A clay battery on either end representing a used, and manufactured battery.

To me, creativity means an expression of one’s soul. Art is the easiest way for me to express my emotions and really process things. My thoughts, emotions, and experiences often culminate in my pieces.
