Sunset in Humidity
This was part of a personal project called "Views from my window", I would take multiple shots from my apartment window in the Zhong Shan district of Taipei, Taiwan.
Bay Sunset
As the day went on I was struggling to find the perfect place to take my photo. I had been driving around for some time trying to find a location that I liked. When the sun set I went down to the bulb and the sunset was exactly what I wanted. I walked around looking for an angle I liked. Once I found the right spot I took multiple photos. This one stood out to me the most as the colors of the ocean and sky are deep and colorful. I decided to shoot from behind a small shrub because I liked how it split up the scene and gave the photo more depth.
Sightseeing
I was inspired by the skyline of SF and wanted to have a photo that captures the mystique of SF. By having my subject on a swing, it looks like she is flying over SF.
Dancing is Life
I've been dancing at the same studio for 12 years. This photo is of my dance teacher for the past 6 years. She and my dance family mean a lot to me.
Sunset Amidst the Clouds
I had taken a camera home from school and was hanging out with my family when I noticed that the sunset was a beautiful color, one which I had never seen before. I paused what I was doing and rushed to my apartment window to capture with my camera what I was seeing with my eyes. It is still one of the most memorable photos I have ever taken and one which will stick with me for a very long time.
Bush Spider
I wanted to capture a picture of a living organism. I found this spider sitting in a bush in the Berkeley Rose Garden. A lot of people are scared of spiders so i portrayed the spider as bigger than it actually is.
Wooden Boat
This is an olden 1800s boat in the harbor next to golden gate bridge and symbolizes an old generation of boats.
Defeated
Dimension: 2636 × 3028 pixels, Description: This photo was taken during one of our last football games where the opposing team scored the last minute game winning touchdown. Once I looked around at the team, everyone's hope of winning shut down. This photo has so much power in it because we can see both players on the same team are in a depressed position. The player that is farthest is seen to be injured and depressed because he cannot do anything to help them win. The closest player shows the emotion of exhaustion and depression because he knows that whatever he does in the game changes no outcome.
So Young, So Little Time.
This was taken on a great day with my cousins. It was a Friday in the county fair having a great time with my cousin. I brought my camera to capture memories and to see if I can get a good photo. Having a great time and taking a step back from all of my unnecessary thought of stress went all away as I was in the moment the whole day truly enjoying the night, seeing friends and eating good food. Seeing people every year change as we meet up again in the fair is something that surprises me every time. It makes me think about how every year is a another year we grow older and more mature, just the thought that everyone’s life moves so quickly and that we all have our own thing going on really made me think and appreciate the things around me. It made me feel that we had so much time to joke around and have fun as kids, but also made me think about all the time I have as an adult. I felt as if I had all the time in the world, but at the same time I felt that there was not enough time. That is why I called it “So Young, So Little Time”. The spinning of the ride and the people around us are all young living life the way the way it is, and hopefully living it to its fullest because you might blink & it’s gone.
BZZT
According to Freud, "guilt is a quality that children learn to monitor their behavior to avoid punishment from parents". According to Melanie Klein, "guilt is [a] beneficial [quality] because it increases the likelihood of harmony in a broader society". According to me, guilt is a draining emotion that underlines my life with a thrum of useless discomfort.
Lighting Up the Dark
This photo is a beautiful representation of lighting up the dark. To tack this photo my model and I stode in complete darkness with fairy lights. The fairy light created the rings of light, but it took along time to expose the photo. Looking back on this photo I relize the great metaphor that this shows. It tells us that there is always light even in the darkest times. Even when it feels like you can’t see were you are going there is always light to lead the way.
Darkness Captured
The photo shown is a photo of the model staring straight ahead while I am taking the photo. I used a digital camera to take this photo as well as a light set up. This is the photo that I am most proud of because it shows how you can still be standing and fighting even when everything else is dark around you.
pink haired lady
I like to stand in a cerain place and wait ans se what happens in the space that I stay in. I like documenting specific areas or places and capturing the story of a place
Foggy Morning
To make this image i woke up early in the morning to take advantage of the soft early morning light. I walked up a hill and set up my tripod and camera. At first I did not notice the fog rolling in and was focused on something else. When I realized that the fog looked really cool i pointed my camera to it but the sun was getting higher by the minute so I had very little time. However I am happy how it came out. My favorite part of the image is definitely the light in the sky. The gradient of blues and pinks and soft greens in the land makes it a very pleasing image to look at. I am proud of this image because it was the first time that I tried out landscapes. In this image i wanted to capture the soft light of the morning but also try to push the boundaries of my skills.
Golden Gate
This is a unique double-exposure photo. That captures one of San Fransico's most excellent staples. Growing up in SF, the Golden Gate Bridge meant so much to me, so I wanted to capture its unique beauty in a not basic or stereotypical way. I hope you guys enjoy the image!
Splashing Forward
Taking photography class has opened my eyes to a whole new subject. Whilst walking around a beach, I saw a dog splashing around in the water and I snapped a quick photo.
Ocean on Ocean
I loved how the rock looked and the water was a perfect background. I used a lower F/stop so the background wouldn't distract from the rock but add to it.
Double-sided Landscape
I love how eye-catching the photograph is, It has so much to look at. My photograph is a creative work of art that has two different outlooks on it. The way i created it was by just flipping the image and i started messing with the highlights, shadings and color. I love the original photo but this one looks so much better to me.
Secret Garden
I took this photo in my garden where I remember playing pretend as a fairy when I was little. I wanted to capture some of the magic of imagining you are something so small that a flower towers over you. I wanted to capture that feeling of awe and insignificance that you feel when you are surrounded by very tall trees. I focused on the pink flowers because they look almost otherworldly, contributing to the feeling that you have entered the garden and been transported to a fantastical world of fairies and towering flowers.
