• Artist Statement

  Throughout the majority of my life, I underwent extensive training as a classical musician. However, as people around me began to share the experiences of pop music, I started to grow interest in contrasting genres of music. Leveraging my proficiency in both violin and piano, I embarked on a journey to present two distinct pieces, Fauré’s Après Un Rêve (After A Dream) and Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal, that, despite their differences, maintained a profound connection. In pursuit of this goal, I found myself immersed in various musical styles, continually captivated by the unique attributes that render each genre exceptional. This process not only broadened my musical horizons but also deepened my appreciation for the diverse qualities that make different genres truly exceptional. With the help of my brother on the cello, I was able to make this performance of both pop and classical music.
