This illustration is made from colored pencil. I started it in art class, during our self portraits unit. The girl in the picture is actually me! Drawing this was a challenge because I don't usually use this medium, or these colors, and I rarely draw myself.
This artwork was based on a picture my best friend took of me. In real life, the background is the wall of my attic, but I imagined that the background stars were doodles someone drew on the wall. I love how it's close up so that it's unclear where or what the context is of this drawing is. It's up for interpretation. Is that bump beneath her a mountain or her knee? "Wonder" Is what I named this artwork because her facial expression, the colors, and the stars emulate a sense of curiosity and magic.

Exploring and expressing creativity is really important to me. Spending way too many hours in my room making art or music is like my form of therapy. I think my favorite thing about creativity is that it has no limits, it's beautiful that it can be whatever you want it to be.
